"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." - James 1:19-20 KJV

We are often guilty of listening to respond and not listening to understand a person - most often when they need to be heard the most. It is not okay to be quick to anger but that does not stop us from going to that emotion straight away when things do not go our way. We should be more mindful of the words that we speak to others because it matters so much. How you speak to someone can affect how they view themselves, especially in a negative way.

I pray that you choose kindness, even when it is hard. I pray that you listen before you speak and choose to speak with empathy when you are ready. I pray that you think of the Lord you speak to others and choose to treat them like family, even when it is difficult.
